There were 3 holidays (that I remember) and a few day trips to Blackpool, I had with my Gran, firstly she and my mom took me and Sammy (my oldest sister) to Butlins Skegness Which I dont remember much about, then Benidorm when I was 14 and then we took over Barry Island with alot of the family (lol) not long after, But it was the Holiday when she took me to Benidorm with Grandad John, and Uncle Carl I remember most, and will never forget. This is where my love of Spain has come from and why I go back to Benidorm when ever I can: Gran showed me that there was a whole world out there, she was full of life, we danced she got me up on Karaoke, where I sang for the first time singing (Hey Hey we're the Monkees, and Billy Idol's White Wedding) Oh my god I was soooo nervous but really enjoyed it and so did Gran and Grandad, and when I got home I was regularly singing(not very well lol) in the St Lawrence Tavern with my Mom (Teresa). I played Pool with my Gran a few times, and she won most games lol, and something I still occasionally do with friends, and I always think of my gran when playing. Another of my memories from that holiday was when I was walking in to her and grandads room to see if they were reaady to go down to the bar, she asked what you listening to on your walkman son? to which I replied oh gran you wont like this, at that point playing was No Limit by 2 Unlimited, anyway she insisted having a listen so I passed the walkman over and she put the headphones on and started dancing as she was sitting in the middle of the 2 beds which were pushed together saying oh I like this lee, bet you didnt expect that did you? Ooops as she slips between the two beds hitting the floor and we just burst out laughing, I couldnt help her up and it must of been a few minutes before we calmed down enough, Grandad didn't find it very funny however, and we went down to the bar after that. (I'm laughing now and crying at the same time thinking about it) Gran also introduced me to Bingo on that holiday to, which I absolutely love, So Thankyou Gran for the wonderful Memories and some of the hobbies I now enjoy, and the next time I'm in Benidorm I'll have a Vodka and Orange for you and I'll even attempt to sing that first song again. I love you with all my heart, and already missing you, until we meet again, Good night and God bless. X
